Our first holiday
October 05, 2015We took our first official vacation together to Negril Jamaica in March 2014. We stayed at an all inclusive result called Couples Negril. I have been to many all inclusive before but this was Robs first time to the Caribbean and an all inclusive. It was one of the best vacations!!! The sunsets were unreal and the food was outstanding. The best part was it was a true all inclusive...all water sports including catamaran, snorkelling, waterskiing...you name it.
Rob and I had been together almost two years at this point and all throughout the trip we were asked if we were married and on our honeymoon or engaged and continued to get the same shocked reaction when we said no to both. At one point while getting ready for dinner an employee came to our room and asked us the same questions. When I replied no to both she said " you need a ring" and then looked at Rob and said "what are you waitin' for mon?" True to form and completely oblivious to what was going on Rob responds with "waiting for dinner, why?".....HAHAHA
Two days later we went to look at pictures that had been taken of us while we were there and they offered us a free photo shoot to help train one of the new photographers. We agreed and met up with a young guy for about an hour. At one point we head out on to the beach and out to the wedding arch. At this point the photographer asks Rob to get down on one knee and "propose" to me!!! All I continued to say was NO NO NO as I was mortified and didn't want a fake proposal. Then it occurred ot me that this could have been a set up and I just ripped the heart out of the man I love and mortified him in return. Also, now a crowd was beginning to form and not ring was being produced. I made Rob stand up and we walked away to a round of applause. I just waved and thanked everyone praying no one would recognize us later in the night after the afternoon sun filled with endless rum punches.
Needless to say no engagement did actually come from this vacation and I waited another 2.5 years BUT I'd say it was worth it.
